Pupil Premium 2017-2018

In the financial year for 2017-2018, April 1st 2017 to 31st March 2018 the school has received £36,110 Pupil Premium.  Budget is based on 20 children.

All strategies aim to remove barriers to learning and improve pupil progress and achievement.  All monies received have been used to provide:

  • Multi-sensory maths intervention to help children make solid foundations in key concepts to underpin objectives in National Curriculum for maths
  • Multi-sensory maths resources for KS2 to help children make solid foundations in key concepts to underpin objectives in National Curriculum for maths
  • Updated Multi-sensory resources in EYRS to help children make solid foundations in key concepts to underpin objectives in maths
  • Develop communication language and literacy in all Key Stages
  • Provide additional support in all year groups to provide intervention programmes for underachieving vulnerable children to support them in reaching expected levels.
  • Small group work to support children with Phonics skill development
  • Provide out of hours support in small groups to develop basic skills or extension of skills in reading, writing and maths
  • To support children with emotional and social needs by providing wellbeing intervention programmes e.g. counselling 1:1, Drawing and Talking 1:1
  • Provide counselling for targeted children in order to meet their social and emotional needs
  • Provide support at lunchtime for children who need to develop social and communication skills.
  • Take part in city wide and Gosforth Schools’ Trust sports programmes enabling children to explore and understand the challenges of living, working and playing in a diverse community through a cross curricular approach
  • Provide supply cover for staff attending training to support pupil progress.
  • Training for teachers and teaching assistants in assessment and moderation
  • Subsidise enrichment activities – support with the payments; including musical tuition, educational visits and the Year 4 residential visit to Robinwood Outward Bound Centre and after school activities.

  • Children having the opportunity to take part in activities they may not have had the chance to previously.
  • Children are motivated to come to school and enjoy taking part in sports.
  • The residential visit established team working and collaborative skills, as well as increasing self-confidence for children in Year 4
  • Impact of Phonic intervention work on pupil outcomes
  • Impact of TA/LSA/Teacher support – additional hours – on pupil outcomes.
